Municipal Incineration Plant Wastewater Treatment

1. Outline

The wastewater derived from a municipal solid waste incineration plant being consisted of flue gas wash water and ash wash water contains quite high level of salts and various organic substances as well as harmful heavy metals and dioxins. Therefore it is difficult to eliminate all the pollutants by a unit operation. However the KURABO MSW incineration plant's wastewater treatment system which we have developed as explained below can well eliminate organic substances and heavy metals by new combination of biological and chemical treatment.

2. Merit

1) It removes heavy metals such as mercury or others to under the regulation standard value.
2) It removes effectively BOD and COD.
3) Easy operation and control
4) Can be unitized
5) Cheap running cost.

3. Performance

Performance data is in Table-1.
