Rotormat (Screen)

1. Purpose

In a sewage and sludge treatment plant, facilities for pretreatment, scum treatment and sludge disposal are the most unhygienic and have the most undesirable working conditions.
The Rotormat is a screen that provided hygienic handling of screening, scum and sludge, and which considerably improves working conditions. In the Rotormat, a unique screen and screw conveyor equipped with a washing device and press have been incorporated into a completely enclosed body. Since it washes removed screenings and instantly dries them, unpleasant maintenance associated with conventional screen equipment and screenings disposal are eradicated, and hygienic working conditions can be realized.

2. Structure

The Rotormat is equipped with a drum-type screen and screw conveyor with a pressing section, which are incorporated in one body. Screenings caught by the screen are dropped onto the conveyor due to the rotation of a rake and are conveyed. The screenings are washed with the washing device, dehydrated with the press located above the screw conveyor and then removed using containers or vinyl bags. The Rotormat can be installed in any canal. Since the screen is fixed to the casing of the screw conveyor it can be operated by supporting one point of the casing on the floor and putting the screen in the canal with the point acting as fulcrum. The screen can also be easily inspected by pulling it up out of the canal.

3. Characteristics

1) The screen, washing device and dehydration mechanism are combined into a compact body so that working conditions are considerably improved.
2) Since the screens are dehydrated up to 60 to 75% by the effects of the washing device and dehydration mechanism, they can be removed hygienically in vinyl bags.
3) The volume of screenings is substantially reduced to about ¼ the original volume and need to be removed less often.
4) Simple structure stabilizes functions, eliminates breakdowns and facilitates easy maintenance and control.
5) The device is made of stainless steel and has a long life with excellent corrosion resistance.

4. Specifications

The above table shows the quantity of water which can be treated at general sewage.
The standard mesh sizes ranges in series from 5mm to 30mm.

5. Application

Waterworks and sewerage pumping facilities, waste water treatment facilities for agricultural hamlets, small-scale sewage treatment facilities, waste plants, night soil treatment facilities, industrial effluent treatment facilities and special facilities.

6. User

Removal of screenings, removal of scum and pretreatment in sludge disposal facilities.
