Sludge Recycle Treatment System (Biogas Recovery by Uhde System)This system authorized by Japanese Government on January, 31, 2000
1. Abstract
Hitachi Zosen introduced biogas system technology from Schwarting-Uhde GmbH in Germany to establish a recycling system to convert refuse into energy and compost, and then obtained government authorized certificate after completion of pilot test.
This is a new system to provide the power and heat for night soil processing plant and digestion treatment equipment. It recycles various organic substances by transforming fermented dregs into compost after the fermentation of night soil, sludge in septic tanks, kitchen garbage, industrial organic wastes and excreta of livestock, and so on. The surplus power or heat will be supplied to the outside at a certain rates.
2. Features
(1) Application of the most appropriate pre-treatment facility:
It provides for the selection of the pre-treatment process most appropriate for the characteristics of various organic wastes.
(2) Compost Fermentation tank can be made compact by 2-stage-digestion:
1) No.1 Fermentation tank:
Decomposition is accelerated by keeping internal temperature of 35-37ºC.
2) No.2 Fermentation tank:
Generation of methane gas is accelerated by a high internal temperature of 55ºC.
(3) Stable Performance:
By separating the fermentation tank into two sections, control according to the characteristics of each bacillus is possible, providing stable treatment capacity and efficiency.
(4) Less Trouble and Energy-Consumption:
Each Fermentation tank involves no moving parts, providing a simple structure less susceptible to mechanical problems and more energy-efficient operation.
(5) Electric Power Generation with Biogas:
Biogas from each Fermentation tank is utilized as fuel for Co-Generation Unit to generate electricity and also heat (hot water), and to provide them required for the system. Surplus electricity and heat will be able to supply to the outside at a certain rate.
(6) Excellent Quality Compost:
The system produces fertilizer of good quality, which can be used for the farming and other purposes, by recycling fermentation dregs.
