AW Gas Cleaner

1. Purpose

The AW gas cleaner is a packed tower for removing noxious gases and odors in exhaust gases, its features being the film type packing to increase the gas liquid contact time and the liquid film exchange frequency.
Furthermore, 5µm or larger size dust in the exhaust gases can also be removed.

2. Performance

The low pressure (19.6KPa) nozzles are used for spraying the water to the packing. Alkaline gases such as ammonia, acidic gases such as hydrogen sulfide and methyl sulfide can be removed effectively by the use of acid-aqueous solution, with up to 99.9% efficiency. Furthermore, 5µm or larger dust can also be removed with up to 95% or larger efficiency.

3. Characteristics

When cleaning the gases under the same conditions, the packed height and pressure loss can be reduced to ½ and 1/8, respectively, of those of the conventional packed tower, thus allowing a compact design.
The flooding point is larger than that of the conventional tower, Neither packing nor spray nozzles are clogged. Excellent performance of packing reduces operating cost.
