Neutraman Air Pollution Control Equipment1. Purpose
The most common methods of deodorization or treatment of exhaust gas are categorized as physical, chemical and biological. Of these, chemical methods are preferred. In particular, the technique of cleaning by chemical treatment is preferred because of its economical efficiency and effectiveness.
Neutraman is a chemical-cleaning type of equipment that uses a unique gas-liquid contact process, unlike previous systems that use filler or packing material. Since V-slot screens are used for the gas-liquid contact, there is a marked increase in efficiency over the filler type, resulting in the capability of treating a wide range of pollutants.
2. Principle of Operation
Neutraman uses the principle of gas-liquid contact with groups of V-slot screens installed serially in the gas passageway as shown in Fig. 1.

Fig.1 Neutraman Functional Diagram
- Spray nozzles (a), installed in front each screen (b), spray the liquid chemical onto the front of the screen. The sprayed liquid flows down the screen, partly on the front and partly on the back, collects in a trough in the lower part of the gas passageway, and flows back to the tank (c). Fresh chemical is automatically added to the tank as required. The pump (d) continuously supplies liquid to the spray nozzles. The polluted gas flows through as many screen stages as necessary to remove the offensive odor(s). After the final stage, a special demister screen (e) removes any remaining chemical mist from the air before it is exhausted. The gas-liquid contact principle is as follows:
(Refer to Fig.2)- 1. Screen design
A screen comprises a frame with horizontal v-shaped elements spaced to allow the gas to flow between them. Each screen stage consists of two screens placed as shown in Fig.2.
2. Screen operation
The sprayed liquid chemical forms a liquid film on the surface of the screen, and a thicker membrane of liquid in the space between the v-shaped elements. The polluted gas flows through this membrane and disintegrates causing some of the odorous material to be absorbed by the liquid. More pollution is removed in each subsequent stage, then the clear air is exhausted.

3. Neutraman Features
A high efficiency gas-liquid contact process that offers compact and precise performance.
The number of screen stages can be varied to suit the concentration and the type of offensive odors to be processed, thus providing precise performance for any exact purpose.
Neutraman equipment is easy to maintain.
