Deodorizer with Catalytic Combustion1. Principle
The purpose of the Deodorizer with Catalytic Combustion is to oxidize and decompose offensive odor/deleterious substances contained in exhaust gas from various industrial production processes simply by conducting such exhaust gas through a catalyst bed having an oxidizing action.
Exhaust gas can be oxidized and preheated at an exhaust gas temperature of approximately 200ºC-400ºC using the calorific value possessed by the offensive odor/deleterious substances themselves. Therefore, the Deodorizer with Catalytic Combustion have many superior characteristics compared with other methods.
2. Basic System
1) Exhaust gas containing offensive odor/deleterious ingredients (at a low temperature) will be boosted up by a blower and preheated in the heat-exchanger with combustion exhaust gas (at a high temperature).
2) Next, the preheated exhaust gas passes the catalyst bed installed in the catalytic combustor, the offensive odor/deleterious substances and the oxygen contained in the exhaust gas act upon each other by catalytic action, with the result that the offensive odor/deleterious ingredients are decomposed by oxidation and discharged as odorless and harmless clean gas.
3) The temperature of the exhaust gas at the time of reaction on the catalyst bed is heated by the heat of reaction, and the heat thus generated is recovered bathe heat-exchanger.
4) The oxidation reaction by the catalyst varies according to the types of the offensive odor/deleterious substances and the gas temperature.
Generally, the oxidation reaction begins to take place (ignition of catalyst) at a temperature of approximately 200ºC-400ºC. Therefore, when the temperature of the exhaust gas is low, the gas is preheated by the heat of the cleaned gas. When starting up the device or when preheating temperature of the exhaust gas is insufficient, the exhaust gas is preheated by the start up burner.

3. Special Features
1) High removal ratio can be achieved as the offensive odor/deleterious gas is removed by the oxidizing reaction.
2) Exhaust gas can be treated at a comparatively low temperature. Therefore, hardly any NOx is generated. In addition, no waste water is generated as it is a dry-type, so there is no need for concern about secondary pollution.
3) As the Deodorizer with Catalytic Combustion utilizes the calorific value of the offensive odor/deleterious substances themselves, only a small amount of auxiliary fuel is required, making it an energy-saving type device.
4) By the catalyst that can be used from a low to high temperature region (approx. 200ºC - 800ºC), the calorie fluctuation attributable to the plant side (exhaust gas generation source) operation can be met adequately, permitting safe and stable plant operation.
5) The automatic control system enables safe, easy and manpower-saving operation.
