GREATS Acid Gas Wet Scrubber

1. Outline

GREATS is an acid gas wet scrubber developed as an outgrowth of our flue gas desulfurization equipment. It simultaneously removes harmful acid gases such as hydrogen chloride, sulfurous acid gas, etc. generated from municipal refuse incinerators and industrial-waste incinerator and is constructed of highly anticorrosive materials. The gas removal is quite efficiently obtained and mercury is also wholly trapped by chelate resin. There has been much installation results since 1974 and it has recently applied for harmful gas removal of sludge incinerator in the sewage treatment plant.

2. Merit

1) High removal rate.
GREATS removes HCl, SO2 gas and soot efficiently.
2) Stable performance for load variation.
3) Simple structure with full automatic control and easy operation.
4) Compact equipment.
5) Cheap installation cost and hence economical.
6) Gas absorbed waste liquid can be treated in accordance with respective demands such as river discharge, sewage discharge or solidification.

3. Performance

High removal rate (more than 99.6% for HCl, more than 96.7% for SO2) is obtained in Table below.
