Trends in Methods of Energy Conservation

An energy conservation method adopted in a case of the erection of a new energy-saving building and the one adopted in a case of the renovation are compared. Although both methods are basically the same, there are more mechanical responses to the equipment since there are limiting conditions regarding architectural structure in the case of renovation.
There are the following methods of energy conservation adopted relatively often for renovation.

(1)Architectural planning -
(2)Material -
(3)System Outdoor Air Cooling
Introduction of Co-generation System, Air Conditioning System using Waste-Gas, and Boilers
Simultaneous heating and Cooling
Introduction of Gas Fired Air Conditioning
Introduction of Thermal Storage Technology
Conversion into Floor-by-floor Air-handling Unit System and Local Hot Water System
Conversion into Direct Connecting Water Supply System
Installation of Demand Controller
(4)Device (Equipment) Water Saving
VAV/VWA
Total Heat Exchanger
Lighting Control/ Day-lighting
· Upgrading to High-efficiency Lighting Fittings using Inverters and Light Reflectors
Reduction of Transformer Loss by upgrading to High-efficiency Electrical Transformer
(5)Operation (Control) Optimum Operation of Equipment
· Introduction of Energy Management Systems such as BEMS, BMS, and EMS
· Preheating
· Temperature-controlled Operation of Gas Cooler Fan
Control of Ventilation Air Volume According to CO2 Density
Review of Indoor Conditions
(6)Others Adiabatic Film
